See the business on one page.

When every problem is discussed separately, the business can feel like ten unrelated things are breaking at once. The Business Architecture Canvas helps you see how the offer, customer, operations, and growth system affect one another, so you can stop treating symptoms as isolated problems.

Business Architecture Canvas

The four parts of the canvas

1. Offers

What do you sell, to whom, at what price, and what promise does each offer make?

2. Customers

Who is the offer designed for, what problem brings them to it, and what do they need to believe before they buy?

3. Operations

What people, steps, tools, information, and capacity are required to deliver the promise consistently?

4. Growth

How do the right people discover the business, move toward a decision, buy, return, and refer others?

How to use it

Fill in what is true today, not what the business is supposed to look like. Then draw the connections. Which offer creates operational strain? Which customer is difficult to reach? Which growth activity attracts people the offer is not built for? Which manual process limits how much the business can sell?

Circle the connection creating the most strain. That is usually a better place to start than the loudest individual symptom.

When the canvas reveals a clarity problem

The Business Visibility System helps you define what the business is becoming, how the pieces fit together, and how to communicate it consistently. If the canvas shows that the business itself is difficult to explain or organize, this may be the right place to begin.
